check your oil i bet there is diesel fuel in it. And you are also having hard starts im guessing.

its the injectors, they have gone south, since you have an 01 your truck is past the 7 year 200k mile warrenty for the injectors though.

also it would be a good time to clean the bottom of your truck its probably soaked with diesel fuel too. and be carefull when you drain the oil there will be over 20 quarts of oil/diesel mixed in there.

one more thing, Stop driving the truck asap the diesel fuel can ruin in the crank bearings

check the oil then. the extremly low oil pressure hase happened to me 3 times because of failed injectors or diesel fuel leaking from the return lines into my engine oil.

I bought new injectors from the dealer, but any shop can usually get them from around 250 per injector + core.

I did try out a set from pensacola diesel, and i ended up having to replace my injectors 3 times in five months so i went and got new injectors from the dealer. long story short dont buy them from pensacola.

I did a short write up on doing the injectors, itl give you a clue on what to expect.

balance rate test and/or return rate test. balance rate test might point you in the right direction. it can be done with a scan tool.

return rate test needs hoses and adapters to thread into the return lines to measure how much each bank is returning the most fuel and then pulling the valve covers to test each injector individually to see which one is retutning too much fuel.

but fwiw replacing all 8 woud be the best thing to do, and adjusting the valve lash while your down there

Well I got extremely lucky!!!! The dealer is going to warranty all 8 injecters being replaced. The cost was going to be $7k to replace them.
