Default Transmission Fluid in radiator

Need help. My son just purchased a 1989 Dodge with first gen cummins. It had a known transmission issue, just wasn't sure what it was. After evaluating it, we found the trans fluid is all ending up in the radiator and over flow. Any ideas of the cause?

Thanks for any help.
