Default Air Dog FP-150 pressure issue

I have an 03 Dodge with the cummins I had put this air dog pump on new in 09. I have put about 60k on the truck since then. It's been a good pump.
I have about 9lbs of fuel pressure reading on my gauge now. When I got it in the yard 1st thing I did was drop water block and clean the screen above it, flush it out and re-install it. After that didn't help I replaced the filter with a new one. No change at all!!!!! It was running at about 11-12 when I drove it last.

Hear are a couple questions I am looking for answers to:

How long do these pumps last?

Can I replace the gear rotor in this unit? Could it just be getting enough wear to cause this?...

If I get a new pump will it connect to my original hoses and harness and bracket on the truck?

What kind of price can someone get me for a replacement pump?

Is there something better for a pump I should go to instead?

Looks like Air Dog has some newer models, any suggestions on what I should replace it with if that is what I need to do?

What I have done:
Removed filters numerous x's - cleaned water block - installed new filter - removed and cleaned screen above water block

Blew air through suction hose side of pump [ pump - tank ] I can hear it bubble in tank

Ran a new hose to suck diesel out of a clean bucket to pump - NO CHANGE 9lbs !

Removed the gear rotor in the pump 2x's to inspect and clean it - no visible problems

Removed pressure side hose of pump [pump to engine] installed hose into empty bucket - when I cycle key and run pump for about 30 seconds I only get about 1 qt of fuel, and it will not even fill the hose, it's only about half full like there is almost no pressure!!!

I also connected + and - wires from a battery to the plug on the pump and it runs the same as when it is powered from the harness. 9-10lbs on the gauge !!!

This pump does not seem excessively nosy, like it is getting air anywhere. And seems to be turning like normal, just not pushing the volume it has done...

I can't find any reason why this pump is loosing pressure. It normally runs 15-17lbs on my pressure gauge. It has slowly been creeping down for the last # of weeks. I don't worry about it much, I have a spare filter I carry. When it got down to about 12lbs I thought that was odd, usually it will stay above that.

Another clue has been bothering me, with this 150 pump running normally, when I open the gas cap I can hear the overflow running extra fuel into the tank and this has dropped to almost nothing. This has never been like this since new, always been lost of extra fuel. Tells me pump is pumping way less volume of fuel. Why?

These things drive me nuts....!!!!

I would appreciate anyone experience with this problem. Just seems to me that this pump should last longer that this. And I can't imagine how this gear rotor, which is turning, can drop off in fuel volume and pressure like this. does not make sense to me.

I had an airdog do the same thing. But I did not go to your extent on it, trash can
Replaced with a FASS. It was due anyway. 150 was about maxed out

Thanks for your reply.
Curious about the FASS.
What is different about it compared to the air dog?
Obviously you changed for a reason......

I am waiting to hear about warranty....

A truck came in my shop with a bad airdog. And they did warrenty it. But I was only 7mo old. They sent out a new motor for it. Simple install and the guy was back on the road.
With me using a vp44 when my airdog went bad it took the vp with it. Needless to say I was not very happy.

As far as diffrence in the internals of the pump I could not tell you, I have not pulled each apart and really looked at them. Called my parts dealer and had a FASS the next day.
So far so good, I cannot complain with the pump, I have seen way to many airdog failures to take the risk. It wiped out a monster mike vp. He is a hard man to get ahold of and when you are a return customer he does not jump through loops to help out like he does when you are a first timer.
Needless to say. I jumped on the bandwagon

Next time it gets a 7100 and a mechanical lift pump.
