Default f350 no start after long time sitting

aloha, I've got a 1995 f350 cowboy Cadillac that's been sitting in the Hawaii weather for about a year ,wife left, dog died and truck broke....sounds like a country song ....anyways ... I bought new battery's , cleaned the fuel filter and drainedwater, a cup maybe, put sea foam in the fuel...... as well as rebuilt starter, still no start , wait light comes on for 20 seconds or so, all seems normal to start, but nothing happens just a faint click , bought the solenoid that goes near the battery's and wonder if anybodys got ideas or suggestions ? battery were from walmart and seem weak , cables all check as good with new bolts on all , grounds seems tight and sound....oh yeah , jumped the starter and she cranks.... please no" its a ford comments", when she go she go! this is my first forum so please be gentle .... thanks p.s anybody know where the neutral safety switch is? she's got a overdrive auto trans....

The faint clicking sounds like a battery related issue.. While my 04 6.0 battery's were only putting out 1/8th the voltage needed to start my truck it would just click and the lights would flicker as I tried to start it.. Advanced Auto parts can do a battery test and free recharge if you don't have the tools to that yourself. I would recommend getting them fully charged up because these trucks need a lot more juice to start up.

Hope I was some help.

Default broken ignition switch

so.... got Betty running ,the ignition switch may have been the trouble all along , if you have a first gen powerstroke truck and the switch seems alittle loose , change it before it gets stuck, here why ....to change/replace the key , all you need to do is push a little catch that's really easy to get to....with the key IN THE RUN POSITION....if the switch or key are broken the key wont go to the ON position and the little catch WILL NOT RELEASE! so your in deep doodoo....I wiggled the key for an hour or so, took off the shroud cover wiggled the steering for a bit while trying to turn the key, broke the protective cover off the switch ....lube , pried ,prayed some [more] and finally the key turned.... push the little button /catch and she pops right out....ps the new key/ignition comes in the 'ON' position , DONT turn it till its in the truck ignition hole.... og it wont go in ! hope this can help someone... if you know how to post this where it will be seen feel free.....ALOHA...

now on to the brakes.... the ol girl originaly took her rest /rust due to break problems, then dead batterys...so...fixed the brake booster vaccume pump. push the brake peddle and now there is power to the system, easy fix , one needs a puller for the pully but its easy to change, just three bolts....brake line leaking on passenger side , bought a real floor jack and stands at sears on sale. so ...up she goes, how do the calipers come off? guess we shall see...stay tuned....ALOHA
