Default 97 f350 powerstoke issues.

Hello. Im new and have been trying to seak some advice on my 97 ford f350 powerstoke.
It is a 4 door dually.
It has around 253k.
I just got it about a mouth ago. Havent had the chance to drive it expt in the yard- Havent had the money for tags yet.
It runs strong once warmed up but has a slight missfire or rough idle at first start up - Dissipates with in 2 to 4 mins and get better from there.

Im having problems with a few things.

I have a fuel leak on the top side. I cant see wear it is coming from (Iv replaced every line I can see) It has slowed down alote but steal drips.

The next problem - I believe I have - Oil in the coolant box. The truck doesnt act like it has a blown headgasket - But the oil there says other wise
(Also knowing the history of the truck leads me to headgasket aswell.)

The P/O said the water pump was bad and he drove it for a lil bit like that - He said it never overheat. He just had to add a lil water to it every now and then. He did how ever replace the water pump upon me asking him to do so. *This worries me a bit* I know he said it never over heated but WE ALL KNOW HOW PPL CAN BE.

Iv also thought maybe since there was a water pump issue- That maybe some one tried putting radiator stop leak or sealer. Causing the water to turn that color. Here is a pic

It doesnt smoke.
It starts right up.
Slight rough idle.

I have drove it one - To the scrap yard with over a 1 or so in the bad of scrap iron it drove great and never even bogged or drop speed claiming huge hills around here.

Iv done the GOOGLE thing and have noticed - HEADGASKETS and OIL COOLER CAUSING the same issue. Is there any way I can test for ether? I have a block tester kit. When I run the test the testing fluid stays the same color so Im guessing I dont have a blown headgasket.

Can some one point me in the right area to test the cooler? Or tell me what I need to do next????

Thanks. I need to get this truck road ready soon!!!

Thanks agian.

I just ran the block tester a 2nd time (This time unplugged the hose that goes from the radiator to the over flow and held the hose straight into the tester. The water stayed blue!!!!! Good SIGN?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Also - The substance in the overflow - Almost smells like soap. Has no oil smell at all.

Any help please?

First thing I would do is flush it out and fill it with the proper coolant and see what happens from there.

X2 with tireman.

The oil coolers on the 7.3l weren't as common on going out like the 6.0 and 6.4.

The rough idle would probably go along with a fuel leak. Fuel leak is probably coming from the back of the fuel filter housing where the drain is. They are bad about leaking there

Good luck

Ready to be back in a truck
