Default White smoke at startup with new pmd and #9 resistor

Hello. yes im new to this forum. so hello all. and a new diesel owner. i got this 2000 k3500 6.5 about 3 months ago. the old owner was meticulus at keeping records of repairs. it has 200k miles and new injector pump at 198,000. he told me it stalled somtimes. so i looked at this forum and you guys stated that it was most likely the pmd. so i bought the truck but had to see the problem myself. i changed the oil,oil filter and fuel filter..and air filter..it ran great. i put diesel kleen in. and a little 2stroke. and it purred like a kitten. drove it for a week. then had a couple no starts. i ordered the hole new stradyne pmd and rellocation. had to wait so i drove it. then it left me stranded at the pumps. for an hour. so i parked it. got new pmd and #9 resistor. installed them in back of front bumper..and it ran like a champ. 2 days later i installed 4" turbo back diamond back exhaust. sounded real good. when i start it cold no plug in. i get alittle white smoke for about 4-5 seconds ruff idle for about 30 seconds then runs fine. this was the normal. plugged in was the same thing, maybe a little easier start..location is about 20 to 30 degrees now..i heard that it takes 50 starts to recognize the new #9 resistor..well it is about 50 starts now.. cold start. it starts with the turn of the key but ruff. and ping and pang. and alot of white smoke for 30-40 seconds..at the end white puff then clear then white puff..then it clears up. never had this before the install of the pmd...could it be the #9 resistor throwing timing off? too much fuel at start? all i now is before pmd and resistor it never smoked at start like that..cant get old resistor out to see what number it was, or just to try it. i read that they match the resistor to the pump. the white smoke at start smells like diesel. not antifreeze...its a daily driver. occasionally i haul a 3000lb trailer..im thinking resistor.. any help would be appreciated

also checked antifreeze..no oil..checked oil no water..or rise in oil. oil pressure driving is above 40. warm at idle is above 20..but makes a hell of a racket at cold start and smokes alot at start with new pmd and #9 resistor. never did before

My truck is a 93 and mechanical injection. it does the same thing every cold start, some cold starts are better than others.
