Default 2005 6.0 Rev sounds

intermittingly While Driving down the road the truck sounds like it would be at extremely high RPM's. Only at 2000. Started about two months ago only when pulling boat. Now does it when driving to work. Has been extremely hot in Texas also.

Year of truck:2005 F250

Motor: 6.0

Mods: 4" lift with 35" tires, engine is stock!

Anything you've done recently: Really nothing, Had oil changed 3000 miles ago

How is the truck primarily used: Daily Driver, Pull 21' boat every weekend

When did the issue start, and if it's intermittent or all the time: Noticed it first when pulling boat. Now seems to be there all the time.

Anything else that might pertain to the issues at hand: Sounds like running on three cylinders when starting in the cold

Any codes, and what are you reading codes with: I don’t have a code reader

Get the batteries load tested first, then test your FICM. The FICM test procedure is at the top of the page in the 6.0 section, there's a "sticky" on it.

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you mean that it sounds like it's at higher RPM's, like as in exhaust noise? Engine noise? Are you sure it's not the fan kicking on, the fan is extremely loud in these trucks, makes it sound like a semi. Might want to check your coolant level, it's the ONLY time my fan comes on, when I'm low on coolant.

Yes sounds like a Semi! is the engine getting hot? I don’t see it on the gaugeI will chech the coolant level this eve.
Read the FICM test. It only starts slow when it gets cold, will hesitate then start and produces a decent amount white smoke. Sounds like i have bad injectors? I don’t see it on the gauge. Man thanks for the help!
Another question,
I'm only getting 12MPG. from what i read that is on the low side of avarage. If i change teh injectors with that increase?
