I didn't see a pic of the headlights you are looking at,that being said,I've been trying to upgrade the lights on my '03 3500. I tried a set of Chinese import junk projectors with HID from ebay and while looking nice, couldn't see squat at night. Tried another set of projectors for almost $400 and couldn't see any better then OEM,quickly sent them back. I've tried almost every new bulb that has come out, along with high quality HID's. While being able to see much better,it blinded oncoming drivers even after turning the lights towards the ground. The final straw was it attracted too much attention from out State Troopers who are nailing vehicles with aftermarket HID's. The lights in the '03-'05 are defective and should be recalled by Dodge. If your in the model years as me,I urge you to file a complaint herewith NHTSA,or if you have a different model year and also drive by brail, file a complaint.

Didn't mean to jack your thread, just wanted to warn you away from the import junk out on the net. Good luck with your light upgrade.

Really the best money spent here is a Sport Conversion with new harnesses with relays and new quality bulbs.

Second best is HID's - I have been waiting to get HIDs but am concerned about getting a ticket for them. My buddys been running them in both of his trucks and hasnt had a problem.

It is interesting to see the 'progression' of headlights over the years. I had an '05 and while it's lights were not bad, the ones in my '06 are a big improvement. Those new H13 / 9008 bulbs are a lot better than whatever they used to have.

It would be nice to have a list going here of aftermarket to buy and to steer clear of! (Hint, hint!)

Also, don't forget to look into adding aftermarket driving lights. I am currently installing a set of Hella FF50's on my little car. I already upgraded it's headlights and while they work very well, these new Hella's are even better. In fact, they are a lot more powerful and whiter than the headlights. (Maybe I should start a thread on how to improve any light with a 9006 bulb.) Anyway, there are a lot of choices out there. Hella and PIAA make some great driving and fog lights. If your vehicle already has them or could have, you should be able to add some without attracting attention of law enforcement. Remember, the main reason to be noticed is to have your lights aimed incorrectly (Read: adjusted to high!) If your lights aren't glaring in oncoming traffic's eyes or noticable strange then you should be just fine.

Please do make sure your lights are adjusted as precisely as possible! There is a move to take away more powerful lighting because so many people don't adjust them. Ever notice how many rigs coming at you have one or more lights aimed too high? It doesn't take that long or so much effort to adjust them.

They protector headlights are good if you have HID bulbs inside them. If not the sport conversion is the best.

Also with the projector headlights you have to ground out the bright lights or they'll be on with your regular driving lights or you can buy the wiring harness.

Look at the pictures in my album of my projectors. They look really nice at night

Here are a couple of ideas for some of you:
AutoZone Silver Star Ultras (Hope that ridiculously long link works!) Those are for 9007 but Sylvania makes others as well. The Silver Stars seem to burn out often. The local Shucks manager told me that about every other set burns out prematurely. It would be a good idea to make sure they will stand behind them. As with all lights, be sure not to get anything on the bulb or it will burn out really fast. I put a set of 9005 in my driving lights. The difference is big!

Here is a higher wattage version 9007 from Summit Racing The only thing about this is it is probably illegal for on road use. Remember what I said earlier about proper aiming so as to not blind oncoming traffic. There may be no way to keep these from blinding others.

(Speaking of that: Ever notice how most Fords p.u.'s cause you to grab your sunglasses at night? Why isn't there a 'complaint hotline' for those? They should have to pull those off the road, they really are a safety hazard to oncoming traffic.)

And as I said in my first post, you should always be able to add some aftermarket lights to help. I am putting a set of Hella FF50 on my little car. I have already upgraded it's lights and they do work very well. I was building the mount for the Hellas and had a jumper wire to turn them on. They are a better light than those upgraded OEM's!! I would highly recommend you look into them www.myhellalights.com.
There are other manufactures as well. I have a set of PIAA driving lights for my Mega. They are broke and I'm trying to get replacement lens' ordered in. They are supposed to be great lights too; but, I have no experience with them (YET!!).

HTH,
Dan

I think I will NOT recommend these Hellas . . . . . Never thought I would say this: But, they are too bright. I think the real problem with them is they don't have a 'cut off' per say. I used them for the first time coming home from ThanksGiving about 2 hours from home. 100% of oncoming traffic on a 2 lane hwy couldn't stand them and flipped their brights on for me to 'dim' mine. Out on the freeway, it was usually ok to run them unless I was in a curve to my right.
I feel that I have them adjusted 'down' enough. I will revisit that though and see if I can make them 'acceptable' to most everyone. But: You know how some people won't dim their lights when they 'forget' they are on high beam? With these, I had no trouble getting anyone to lower theirs!! That is a plus!!
I snapped a couple of pics for you to compare them to my headlights. Remember it is my cell phone so it doesn't do them justice. These things are instantly 'addictive' (As soon as you turn them on you won't ever want to turn them off!!!)

I was on the freeway when I took these. The dim one is the headlights only and was actually after the bright pic with the Hellas on. I say this because I was that much closer to the green road sign by the time my phone let me snap that pic. It doesn't double your sight distance, but it almost does. If you ever ran much on deserted roads, these would be great. They are really small so it is pretty easy to find a spot for them. The ones I have are Hella FF50.

Better lighting is out there, we just have to go get it!!

Here's another new headlight to check out. Prices are a bit steep at this point but the military folks I know love them.

Those Hella's were some I got off ebay many years ago. They are German made. .
I don't know where they are made today.

Walmart does have some 500 and FF500 for about $70 here. After my kid backed over a friends new car (To the tune of about $4,k) I told him to go get a set and get them on the back for back up lights. I feel his tint was what caused that little 'bump'. He hasn't so that is what I'm getting him for CHRISTmas (And me!!)!!

(Oh, and his '85 Dodge didn't even get scratched . . . .

Im surprised there is such a negative response on here for projectors! I have them on our 2007 Kia Sorento and i LOVE them. SUPER bright and the CUT OFF right below where they would blind other drivers! They aren't HID's either!
After having the KIA I wanted to get projectors for the RAM. My issue was that i HAVE a sport and there aren't many, if any, "sport projectors"
