Well, weve got trees over the driveway of our place. As a result, Ive got #$#%&*(* tree sap on all three vehicles.

Any suggestions before I KILL the guy that owns this house?

Doc when I am up at the cabin cutting wood I get alot of tree sap on me and mosquito spray works wonders..................never used it on a truck b4 but I bet ya would wanna wash it with soap right after

I think its the DEET in the Off , Back Woods Ect insect repellent that has the cleaning agent , We use Back Woods with deet to clean permenate marker off of steel lids

I havent had much time to spend with it but I bought some Turtle Wax Bug & Tar remover...seemed to work fairly good. Looks like Ive got my weekend planned.


I will also try some bug spray and maybe some WD-40 (cause it isnt good for much else).

i was gonna suggest WD-40... its a great solvent. Also try some Purple Power cleaner from Autozone.

Short of cutting them down, whats the best way to kill trees?

If Im not mistaken, theres a product called Stump Out? A small auger bit and a generous helping of Stump Out or some diesel might do the trick. And yes, I am serious.

Bleech works, or take a saw and cut around the entire trunk at lest a 1/4" in. Cant circulate water and nutrients then because you have destroyed the cambuim layer.
