Howdy!

New to the site, figured I'd introduce myself. I'm a 24 year old field engineer at some big red company in Duncan, Oklahoma. I've been into Diesel power ever since I was a little guy hanging around my dad and grandpa's shop, working on big CAT crawlers and Cummins powered road tractors. I got the itch something fierce right about high school and went to town on a 1993 F-250 2wd ex-cad with a 7.3 IDI and a 5-speed. Needless to say, the truck spent most of it's life sideways in a cloud of black and white smoke...until something went POW ZING CLATTER CLATTER CLATTER. A dropped valve seat and shattered piston make a terrible sound at about 3200 rpm. So, the truck sat for a while, and I roamed the earth in a 1989 F-250 4wd standard cab 5-speed with a "fresh" 7.3 IDI non turbo. After graduating college with my degree in Mechanical Engineering, I decided that it was time to revisit the old '93. So, I dug up a 1990 Dodge with a 1st Gen Cummins/Getrag combo. After a few months of custom fabrication, I got the 1st Gen stuffed under the hood of the F-250, along with the Getrag and NP205, bolted up the Dodge Dana 61 front, threw on some 38" rubber...and a few custom touches...and went to town BOMBING the motor...until I literally bombed the no.1 piston. So, back to the drawing board...

Hopefully I don't get made fun of too much for my Fummins. I'll have it back soon enough...I hope. Hope to learn lots of stuff here, and maybe share a thing or two!
