If you want decent power but never plan on doing any racing or pulling, I would get the Edge with attitude Monitor..

If you ever plan on racing or pulling.. dont waste your time and money on either ... go straight to EFI Live or PPE, and a good set of gauges.

Yea both of those have digital gauges.. but neither of them makes as much power as a PPE.. And the defueling isnt IF something goes wrong.. it defuels between shifts to help PREVENT something from going wrong. I had a Bullydog, and its a fine programmer.. as long as you dont want to make ALOT of power. The PPE tunes run 250-400 degrees cooler on my EGT's than the Bullydog did. If I had it to do all over again, I wouldnt have wasted my time or money on the Bullydog.. I would have gone straight to PPE or EFI Live.

I'm about to get the edge with attitude.
BUT! if money wasn't and issue right now (i'm getting the edge for like $450 instead of $750) and i wasn't in such a hurry to get more power outta my truck. I'd get a PPE and a good set of gauges.

ppe was my first choice but it is not a on the fly unit. Maybe thats not a big deal?? If i would go with the ppe do i just put dial gauges on the window post?? Then do i just keep an eye on them or does the ppe program have paramators to watch for high EGT's?? I guess i kind of like the monitor but maybee it is just eye candy. I really just don't want junk and want to buy it one time be happy. I probably do not need to use the highest setting I am more worried about damage to the motor and tranny.. the cooler EGTs are a plus I have also looked into a SNOW water/meth system after i see what the tuner will do. thanks for the help.....

you only need 2 gauges in a DMAX.. Boost and EGT (Exhaust Gas Temp) you can get a pillar mount or mount them in the overhead console. The PPE tunes are actually smoother shifting tunes and offer more protection for your truck. Plus with the PPE you can reset the TAPS in your allison.

not to sound dumb but you mean just 2 dial gauges on the window post just so i can monitor boost and exh temp. I think I will call PPE and get a sales pitch on the EXcellerator. I assume that is the tuner you are talking about.

Again thanks for your help.

Yea, Dial type gauges either on the A-pillar which is the post between the windshield and the Drivers door, Or you can also mount them up in the overhead console. As for the PPE Programmer, I would put in a price request thread HERE>>>Price Quote - Request A Price - Diesel Bombers and ask our vendors what kinda prices they can get ya
