Default 06 Duramax

Just bought 2 trucks both with the LLY Duramax motors one with crank broke but great body (5500 gmc 4x4). The other only has 540 miles on motor and drive train but front of truck wrecked (4500 Chevy) plan is to put good motor in 5500 truck any advice on upgrades to motor while changing them out. The over all plan for the truck is to pull a trailer on and off the farm. Just want a good reliably truck with alittle more than factory power. Any advice welcome im new to the Game on Duramax.

Welcome to DB!
I would take a look first at your ECM's on both trucks. People tend to get the 06 LBZ mixed up with the LLY. If the ECM on both trucks have just 2 plugs instead of 3, you should be working with an LBZ. Either way, doing a shim kit or race valve for your Fuel Pressure Relief valve is a good idea, and of course our SPADE Jack or Single Tune SPADE would be a great addition to the truck.
