First Timer
Hi to everyone. My name is Dennis and I have a 1950 GMC Suburban that I put on a 1982 GMC Suburban chassis. The motor (6.2 non-turbo) is 25 years old and original. It has approx. 160,000 miles on the engine. I just conpleted a 10,000+ mile trip around the country towing a 6000 lbs. trailer without any problems except for being under powered on hills. I haven't looked at the site long enough to know where the best place to ask questions are. But here goes. I meet a park ranger at Devils tower who put a 6.5 turbo on his 6.2 engine and seems to be working geat for him. I don't have room for an after market turbo that goes at the front of the exahaust manifold. The ranger had a stock 6.5 that sits over the top of the manifold (which I would have room for). Any words of wisdom if this is good idea or bad. Diesels are new to me and so are turbos. Putting them under the same hood and I'm really lost. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dennis -
