Default My hands are getting greasy

Hello everyone, first post here but there will be many more. My 03 D'max was suffering from a bad head gasket (most likely) so I swapped in another motor and am just tearing down the original mill.

I don't plan to go into the bottom end (100,000 miles) but am looking to buy head studs. I may also key the cam. The fun part will be deciding what to do about the turbo. I am thinking maybe a BD Supermax or perhaps twins, what do you all think? I use the truck daily and tow moderate loads up steep long hills. I'll keep to stock RPM but would like more torque from through the whole band. I've been running a superchip on 2 with a boost bleeder running about 27 psi max. -

Welcome! Sounds like me, blow a hole in a piston and swap in a new motor so you can build the other one. Mine is tore down, waiting to get sent out to the machine shop. If you are planning on twins or a larger turbo, I would suggest going into the the bottom end and at least installing LBZ rods, if not Crowers. If you tow heavy, twins would be the way to go, super low EGT's. Good luck with the build, keep us updated

Also, If you need ARP's or prices on BD or PPE turbos, let me know

Welcome. Studs and twins (sounds like a porno), rods and pistons if it is in the budget. Since it is down, build a good base to add onto later when the small twins just aren't enough anymore. -
