Just wanting to find out a few things about my duramax.
I have the edge evolution on my truck and recently had to have the egr changed and when that was done they re-flashed my ecm which made my mpg's go way down, I went from 24 mpg to about 18-19 mpg's. Can anyone help me understand why this has happened? -

I'm not real sure why it dropped so much. I would guess that maybe they increased the amount of time that the EGR is opened into the intake??

It's funny that your Edge isn't overriding that flash anyway.

You can always lose the EGR function with a blocker plate and finger stick. -

I believe thats a hit or miss type deal with the EGR's. Some people say they gained a few MPG, and some lost a few.. either way.. I PROMISE you, one of the best things you can do it block that EGR..

You weren't getting 24 to begin with and when they reflashed it the algorithm started calculating correctly. Why did you have to have the EGR changed? Did they tell you which reflash was installed and why? Post up the flash revision and I can tell you what changes were made. Also, the Edge does not do anything to the tune in the ECM. Its a plug-in "box" and not a "programmer" so it intercepts the data and then modifies it. Any tuner that "plugs" into your factory wiring harness just modifies data and doesnt modify the flashed tune in the ECM.

BTW- Kick yo boots off and stay awhile. -
