Does anybody know if I can put two cable modems on one Cox cable line?
I live in a cinder block house, and if possible I'd rather just spend the $100 on a second cable modem than run a $60 ethernet cable up through the brown recluse infested attic to my existing modem and router... - |

What about wireless? You can probably get a USB wireless adapter for your desktop and wireless router for $50 and wireless USB for $25 or less. -

I'd rather have the speed and reliability of a non-wireless solution.
And don't go all "trinary arrays" and "type N" and crap because I don't buy it, wires are faster. - |

I recently snuck a wire through the ceiling in a closet to the room above for runnin cat 6 cable to a computer upstairs, took my time made a few measurements and pulled the rug away from the wall/ tack strip and drilled down, knowing I would end up in the closet below. if I ever need to move out a bit of scotch tape and paint in a closet is a quick hide. & behind you 100% on the wires over wireless crud. -

May end up with a conflict between the 2 mac addresses. Better to get a router. By the way, couldn't tell a difference in speed between a wired and wireless connection. -

true..... running an 802.11G wireless device it'll run 1 gigabit in speed (you'll NEVER get that from any provider)...... that is alot faster than a 10/100 megabit wired connection...... i'm wireless spoiled..... nothin like being able to go anywhere in the house and have internet -

My Router must be a POS then. I get a much faster connection on my wired computer than I do on my wireless. -
