hey i want to convert my GMC Canyon to a diesel, i hate the tiny little 4 banger i got now, thinking of going with a cummins 4BT, what all would i need to do besides the obvious drive train adjustments, suspension, and fuel? thanks ... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

hey i want to convert my GMC Canyon to a diesel, i hate the tiny little 4 banger i got now, thinking of going with a cummins 4BT, what all would i need to do besides the obvious drive train adjustments, suspension, and fuel? thanks for the replys -

somehow you need to figure out how to get the trucks electronics to work when you get rid of the elecctronic 4 cylinder and replace it with a mechanical diesel. i doubt the gauges or radio or transmission is going to work with no engine. -

its not going to work because the computer is going to be missing the engine and its not going to want to run the other stuff. you know when one bulb in christmas lights go out the entire strand goes out. same thing here. you could replace all the gauges with mechanical ones and get a simple radio. then it could work.

what transmission do you want to use. if its electronic transmision your going to need a transmission controller. -
