Yes, also if you have onstar remove that fuse. Make sure that your interior light switch is off also.

I have my aftermarket stereo junk on a toggle switch that kills everything, I originally got it so when I had it detailed the guys would not play with my stereo. It works perfect for installing or taking the tuner out also. -

no i dont have onstar. I wonder if buying a edge or power puck that I can tune on the flu would even work? And I allways turn off my interior light and unplug anything hooked to my cigarette lighter -

If you have the edge like I do there is no need to pull any fuses. Just plug in under the hood and mount the attitude and your done. -

oh thats cool, I appreciate the help. have you by chance ever tried using a programmer? and if so, what was the result. (i mean like a plug in, not a shift on the fly?) just trying to isolate if it is just my truck that does this? -

When u have a aftermarket system, most will need the Pac Bypass unit to make everthing work proper. On my 08 the chimes and sound warnings are controlled by the head unit. with the proper bypass the Onstar works as well as the steering controls. If it is not done right most programmers will not load . With my buddies 05 we tried 3 different programmers to no avail, took it to a audio shop got everything hooked up proper and no isssues after that... -
