Default Crankcase Position Centre Code P0335

On trip back I started truck, rough going then engine light came on. Shut off truck and started again and it run smooth. Got back home and this morning checked code and the P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor -A Circuit code came up.

I had put on a new PMD a month back and truck run good up till yesterday.

Do I need to replace this sensor or is there an issue with the computer after installing the PMD that may need to be addressed. Any help would be great. Thanks!

After checking voltage and resistance all was fine. After taking off the transfer case four bolt protection plate, reached up and 13mm bolt holding CPS in place was loose. Taking it off after disconnecting the negatives on battery terminal, I found the metal piece that holds the CPS in place fell off sensor along with the plastic piece that held it on. So hopefully that was the issue. Attached a piece of nylon string to the other end of the sensor so that when I pulled it out, as it is snaked along the pullies and water pump, I could attach the other one to the nylon string and pull it back up with a bit of fish jigging.

After pulling it back up went under to push the CPS back in. It is very tight, but went in with a little finess. Then took some clean oil and coated the silicon gasket to help it go in. Put some blue lock tite on the bolt and tightened it into place.

Hooked up the other end of the harness, tightened up both negative battery terminals and put four bolt protective plate back under transfer case. Cleaned tools up, shut hood, removed the PO335 CPS code with code reader. Started it up and it ran fine, engine code light did not come on. Ran into town and back, still ran fine and no codes came up. Hopefully got it running fine for awhile now.
