I am looking to purchase a new truck, and im wondering what to do. Obviously i have two options gasser or diesel. I want to get better mileage than i am right now in my 1998 1500(10-13mpg). no i am not looking to get 30mpg but somewhere in the 18-21 range. so really out of curiosity for me personally would a duramax be a good option. Not much heavy towing is done, weekdays i work, but weekends highway miles are racked up, but i need a truck for activities i participate in. I have only owned gassers so what type of regular maintenance do diesels require aside of oil change and fuel filter changed? If diesel what is the most miles on the motor you recommend i even consider taking a look at when searching for, i know diesels are built to last longer than gassers, but how much haha? And when looking for a diesel truck, is willing to spend $15000 on a truck a decent amount or am i way under par for a lower mileage(80k-150k) diesel? any input will help. thanks
