Default Chevy Silverado 2008 2500HD Diesel Engine Power is Reduced

I'm new to the diesel arena, my brothers both drove diesel trucks for years and loved them. I finally traded in my gas 1/2 ton and bought a 2008 Chevy 2500HD diesel with 50k miles. I've had this truck for about 2 weeks and thoroughly like it, it's a beast. However last night I hooked my 20' trailer up and started to go down the road. About 10 minutes into the trip I noticed that my truck had no power, I looked down at the dash and saw a "Engine Power is Reduced". I was able to get ahold of a service department minutes before they closed, they said that the particulate filter was plugged, that I need to drive the truck for 15 minutes at 30mps and the truck will do a self cleanse. I drove for 30 minutes, no improvement. I swapped out the fuel filter this morning and went for a drive. The first 2 minutes were normal, then back to the engine power is reduced. I'm stumped... any tips? Thank you, Damon

any codes? codes don't aways make a CEL

dealers can force a regen with the tech 2 or you could get the exhaust temps up yourself. you could do this by running the engine hard for a while, pulling a trailer on the highway, driving at 30 mph for, not 15 min but 30 or more etc.

others may have better suggestions as i dont own a truck with a DPF so experience is lacking in this department

Just got it back from the dealer, they replaced the throttle position sensor, seems to be working properly now. Thank you, Damon

That will do it. Should have been at least one code though. Odd

Thats exactly what I would have done, brought it straight back to the dealer. I would also just take the DPF out anyways even if it wasnt clogged!

Disconnect your mass air flow sensor , and see if it runs

Default 08 duramax

I have an 08 Duramax with the LMM and on the dash display it says "Engine Power is Reduced" it wont drive over 5 mph! I had a code scanner ran on it and all the codes were P0101, P0102, P0571, P0678, P0113, P0299, P0546, and P0244B. Please help me figure out what these are and how/what I need to fix them ASAP!!!

looks like a bad ground to me. or maybe a loose connection on large bale connectors. did you check all of the fuses including the ones on the firewall?
