Default Problems after Installing LED's

Installed (ebay) leds in quite a few places in the truck, but my problems are the interior lighting. I installed lights on the button operated lights up top, the dome light and the door lights. The push button lights work when I press the button, but aren't very bright. None of the lights turn on when I open the door anymore. All of the lights work when I flip the dimmer switch on and are very bright like I want them to be. That is also the only time the door lights will work also. So I'm just wondering how to get these lights working like the factory ones. I'm guessing I need to work a resistor in somewhere and if that is the case where is the best place to install one so that it goes through all interior lights and what ohm and watt does it need to be? Thanks!!
