I have an 06 LBZ and i love the truck its all stock for now except a single 5 magnaflow. a close family friend has a 6.4 that ive both ridden and driven quite a bit before i bought my truck. i honestly like the duramax better. i was considering both but i sided for the chevy just on the fact ive heard some bad things with the 6.4. not that im saying its all true im just more of a bowtie kind of guy and didnt want to venture into the powerstroke world.

what ever fits your budget get it because both are great trucks. I buy chevy because they build them 10 miles from my house and I get the employee discount. but before I moved to MI I had a ford and loved it. I bought my LBZ brand new and with 95k it runs great even with 13k fifth wheel attached

just ONE word of warning
the 06 and OLDER duramaxes do have issues with headgasket failure, and it is an almost common problem, ask me how I know
Now that being said, even with the pain in the azz of replacing the head gaskets I wouldn't trade my duramax for a 6.4l or anything else for that matter
LOVE THE LBZ!!!!!

Personally from having some friends with fords and some with Chevys. It seems the fords are in the shop more. But I like my brother in laws ford, he has had zero issues, maybe he got a good one, but I haven't had any problems with my LBZ. Both great trucks, I did the same thing before I bought my truck. I sat down and wrote out the pros and cons of both, and the Chevy had more pros and cons, so that's what I bought. Good luck to ya!!
