i also need a motor rebuild and i would like to get it set up for some serious power while at it. . . i want to run twin turbos. . . can i run the injectors for twin turbos while running a stock turbo??? the motor rebuild isnt absolutely needed but my fuel pressure regulator is on the fritz and it will cost a lot just to replace that and from what im told you got to tear into the motor quite aways to replace it. i also should look into the rear and front diferentials and drive shaft setup ( i smoke u joints like crazy) im serious my truck needs a lil TLC asap. she is still reliable but i want her to be top notch again |

well replacing your fuel pressure regulator isnt all too bad, your truck is a lly so it will be very simmilar so the same job on my lb7
Dmax Replacing the FCA a.k.a. FPR if you want to build your motor better break out the plastic, it wont be cheap at all. you can run bigger injectors with stock turbo it just depends on the tuning. a good twin turbo kit is the MPI system, you can keep the stock turbo and it bolts right on. it should come with a wastegate so it will be very hard to overspeed the stock turbo. a really good guy a tuning twins is idaho rob. his stock motor lbz runs 11's and tuned a stock motor lb7 to almost a 10 sec 1/4 at some ridiculous eveation, most likely would have been a 10 second pass at sea level. twinning your truck will turn it into a towing beat, egts will drop a ton and you can run alot of power and not have to back it down due to egts. |

a set of good injectors will help you out big time, turbo if you want twins you can build your own or get a MPI set and get idaho rob to tune it with efi live.
if you want to build the motor you can run crower rods, key your cam and crank, delip and coat the pistons and port the heads and upgrade the valve springs and cam. |

that MPI kit looks pretty neat. . . when they talk power are they saying with stock injectors???
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- also is it worth upgrading to the 6 speed allison? good brand of injectors?? Last edited by DIRTYMAX2004; 11-22-2009 at 04:02 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Lots of power can be had with stock injectors its been time and time again, but the ammount of timing and pulsewidth is really eye openeing(IMO) when you sit down a crunch numbers and see whats really going on in the engine to get all the required fuel with stock injectors.
if your wanting a strong transmission for the money the 5 speed would be a better investment. injectors are a huge debate on who to go with i cant say anything on that. |

i wish i didnt have a budget
![]() ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- i saw when you did your FPR you were running a LBZ regulator in your LB7. . . what exactly does that do? do you recommend it?? Last edited by DIRTYMAX2004; 11-22-2009 at 04:49 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

the lbz/lmm FPR can flow more fuel, with that you should be able to run a higher pulsewidth and maintain the same rail pressure, or vice versa.
you will need a scan tool such as efi live to be able to tell if you need some modifications in the first place, like a lift pump or modded fpr. |

i plan on doin a lift pump and water meth right away when i do the tranny and FPR. i think im goin to wait on the motor rebuild. if i run the edge juice with attitude in level 5 i dont get enough fuel and high EGT's(its hard to keep the EGT's down with a 4inch lift and 35's). i want to get an efi live right away to. with a lift pump and the LBZ FPR it should run enough fuel not?
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- i plan on goin with a 4" diamond eye turbo back dual exhaust kit. is for 4" big enough for my power goals or should i go 5"? i feel bad asking you all these questions haha ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- what are some symptoms of the FPR being bad? i was reading up on this and i have none of those symptoms that they were saying. my truck surges hard at idel. it will shake the truck when it surges. sorry bout asking you all these questions man Last edited by DIRTYMAX2004; 11-23-2009 at 10:41 AM..
