Default ???Fuel Pressure Regulator???

I've acquired a skip or surge. Under throttle the truck runs good. Does not over heat. No coolant in the crankcase. No fuel in the crankcase. No smoke other than black out the pipe. Runs and idles fine while reaching operating temperature. Once it gets to approximately 190/200 degrees it starts a random surge in neutral or in gear. Seems to be worse in gear. The fuel filter (wix) has 100 miles on it. I'm currently running a mixture of hotshot extreme FUEL additive to see if it might be a clogged injector. Mixture is proportioned for 12 gallons to see if that would clear it up. Does anyone have an opinion or experienced these symptoms. I haven't checked fuel rail pressure. These symptoms are present weather tuned or not. Running a super chips have tried ALL settings and now running stock. I have already replaced the #2 &7 pigtails previously. I'm thinking fuel pressure regulator?

I had around the same issue. It would surge at stop lights like ever 3-4 secs. I also it slowly got worse over time. Put a new fuel pressure regulator in it and it seemed to stop the surging.

check your engine wire harness coming off your ficm, esp around the alternator bracket and by the valve cover for any wires rubbing. makre sure to resecure them and keep them from rubbing.

Replaced the FPR and rebuilt fuel filter head. And removed some.... parts. Think the problems solved.

What parts did you remove? I have the same issues. I replaced the FPR, new fuel filter, checked wiring harness from the FICM and the issue seems to be getting progressively worse under power. The surging went away at idle but going down the road at about 60 it will buck and surge.

Workingman
Could be filterhead or 2&7 injector wires. The injector wires will more than likely throw a code and limp out.
May be a fuel pump?
