My buddy just picked up an 07 Chevy 2500 classic w/ the duramax and we straight piped the stock exhaust (deleted cat and muffler) and installed a single 5" stack. It's quiet at an idle but when he stands on it it's crazy loud and the turbo whistles like crazy.

You can mod your intake with a saw, open up the front of the intake box that sits behind the headlight. thats about as free as it gets.

they have completly different turbos so the noise will be different. -

If you want to hear the turbo whistle port out your mouth piece for the turbo. you will also gain about 1-2 psi in boost. there is a write up on dieselplace in the DIY or I can help you out with it. -

You can also do the plug mod for the intake hose go get more turbo whistle. The write up is also in this section somewhere. -

i believe that he is talking abut is the modded intake horn.

The modded on is on the left and the stock one is on the right. The stock one chokes down, but the modded one has been machined to match up perfectly with the turbo increasing the flow.

i did notice more noise from the turbo when i installed mine -
