I'm looking at a 2001 duramax. It's a quad can short bed. 98k on it all stock. No rust! Tan in color. The guy wants 15k for it. Good deal or no? I've been looking for 6 months to find what I want for a good deal. I don't it's to terribly priced for the miles. It has not had injectors replaced though. That's the only thing that worries me.

 

15k is too much, i got my 05 for 13.5k. and it crew cab with remote start, bed rug, and locking bed cover.

 

I just bought my 02 duramax quad cab short bed 4x4 no rust dirty interior, gauge cluster won't read miles, runs great no blow by, great oil press, zero leaks, shift great, needed brakes, power steering line, windshield, and idler Pittman arm for 4,300 oh and I had to put a window motor in it. So far I have 4,650 in it with all filters changed, as well. Very solid truck. It probably has higher mileage but for under 5k I think it was well worth it. I've come across a couple other deals like this here in town after I bought this one. There's 3-4 in town for around 7-8k that are pretty solid trucks and leave you room to do injectors and a few upgrades. Keep looking and maybe expand your search. Jump on Craigslist and look here in wichita Ks and surrounding areas if your willing to travel for a deal. If your serious I'd be willing to go look at it and shoot you a little video of the truck before you made any decisons. Good luck. I know how bad it sucks, I looked for over 2 yrs for my last truck and 4 mos later and another 7-8k in upgrades it's sitting here totalled after a stupid 17yr old kid pulled out and hit me.

 

i would guess that your truck has over 200k miles without much towing or about 150k or so miles of heavy towing based on brakes alone if they are still the factory pads

 

No hitch on my truck so no towing at all.......
