04 LB7 Using oil
I checked the oil the other day something I probably should do more often since I found that I was short 3 quarts of oil. The truck has 190,000 mi. My truck doesn't smoke, there isn't any blow by, but I need to check the intercooler line. There are also no drips that I have found and especially no oil on the ground. I have no Idea where the oil is going! Does anybody have any Ideas. I called my mechanic and he thinks an injector is filling up the oil pan but I don't think its possible because I replaced the injectors when I got the truck 3 yrs ago! Anybody know how much it would cost to fix the problem if there is oil in the intercooler line? Thanks for any advice guys!

ok, if it was using oil then an injector would not be even close to the issue ... #1
#2 check your turbo out .. check for slop and for/aft loosness..... if nothing there , inspect underside closley for leaks/seeps......
How long has it been and is the 3 qts a regular problem ? what oil are you running ?

Well a little update on the truck..... I am using a quart about 4,000 mi... I pull a landscape trailer and drive this truck everyday. I hit about 194,000 and either the injector got stuck open or I have a mechanical failure in the #4 piston. Shop did a diagnostic test and the rate on the 4 cylinder was around 10-12 I believe. Once the 4 cylinder was shot off the chopping stopped. Still haven't found an oil leak. The coolant is not milky, there are no visible oil leaks. Now I am waiting on the truck to get into the shop to tear it apart.

It could be possible that the stuck injector washed the cylinder wall and now the wall/rings are scratched and burning oil.
You could try water injection for a few thousand miles to clean up the cylinders and see it stops using oil. A cheap setup could be rigged pre-turbo with the windsheld washer pump that you could use just for this.
