NEED HELP ASAP
I work an hour away from home. I am driving my 01 duramax, and the brake pedal started getting really soft. Check under the hood, and the reservoir is very low and leaking fast from one of the lines. To make matters worse its sleet/rain/snowing out, so the whole truck is wet and it is impossible to figure out where it is actually leaking from. Now I have to drive an hour home at 9:30 PM in what will be a blizzard.
The front side of the reservoir is low, does this go to the front or back wheels (i know on my 2000 impala front side goes to the back wheels).
IF i buy a plug, unhook the front brake line coming out of the front side of the reservoir, with this give me brake pressure back at the bedal and stop my leak, or will the ABS valve just direct the fluid back to the leaking line and cause it to leak still.
Basically I am asking if I should plug the line for my drive home until I can fix it, or if that wont make any difference should I just risk the drive home without messing with it.
Thanks in advance for any and all input!
