Default my first diesel, 1994 6.5 turbo

hey guys, got my first diesel rig. what can i look for or do to ensure it lasts me a while, and best power, mpg, all that stuff
truck had new starter, glow plugs and (glow plug relays? i think)
runs and drives prime, 280k on the clicker

well for starter remember one thing PM, PM, PM, PM, they are known for breaking crank shafts .

Ditto on the PM treat them well and they will do the same in return good luck and enjoy you're new truck

Find a later model 6.5 with the round filter it is refered to as a K47 filter housing it is a perfect fit and allows more air to get into the engine and probally alot less expensive than an after market one that is comparable.

I just got my first diesel as well. its a 96. This might sound dumb, but what does PM stand for? id rather not throw a crank.

Just got my first diesel as well. A 1982 GMC Suburban 6.2L w/6" lift and 38's! Thing is a tank. > Am interested in knowing what PM stands for as well.
