Default OIL LEAKAGE

Hi there i have 1992 6.2 diesel and i have an oil leak. The leak is coming from between the starter and the balhausing. Has anyone had this problem or know what to do. I have been told that it will be my rear main seal because there shouldn't be oil in the ballhausing. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!
