Default Limp mode

Long story short, 95 2500 4wd,1386xx miles. Truck was stolen 11/08 & I just got it back 7/10. Was missing parts. Starter, pmd & cooler, ECM. I bought a 94 ECM off eBay, got the truck running but trans only has 2nd & reverse. So I bought another ECM for a 95 but I had to take the EPROM out of the 94 ECM because the 95 did not come with one. Still in limp mode. Checked for codes and get code 36. Is the EPROM causing this or is the trans having mechanical issues not related to the ECM? Any help would be appriciated as I get no replies at diesel place.

eproms need to be coded to the type of pump you have. so if you got a random eprom its possible you got the wrong one.

So could the wrong EPROM be causing limp mode?

Test the shift solenoids & speed sensors & such.. Wouldn't they be throwing codes?

Turns out the EPROM is for a manual trans truck. In the process of finding out the correct code EPROM needed.
