heres the story: i was driving back to school 200 miles one way when i got to about 190 miles i went to push the pedal down to pass some slow pokes.keep in mind this is going 55-70 mph (different speed limits) in a k5 blazer with a 6.2 and 35s on 3.73 gears. when the trans kicked into passing gear it just felt like it went into neutral reving up again and again not going into gear. it shifts into first and second fine but once it gets up fast enough to shift into drive it semms it goes into neutral. what are the solutions? new trans or would lucas trans fix help this out? or linkage? or would it be something else?

Sounds like overdrive clutch pack is about gone. Check the transmission fluid to smell if it's burnt and also see if it discolored.
