Default 6.2 liter questions

I just bought a 1986 K20 6.2 liter N/A 4 Speed with granny low 4x4. It smokes when idling, mostly on drivers side clears up then comes back. While driving on the road it clears up. Good power at all times. Any ideas?

What color smoke? My first thought is valve stem seals.

Run power services, through it at the next fill up. will clean out gum and tarnish from the fuel lines and injection pump. If this dose not help then its new injectors time

Color of the smoke is important to know.

Blue-oil or way too much fuel from a bad injector?
Grey-incomplete combustion from low compression or many weak injectors?
White-coolant?

Smoke appears to be white. If it was coolant would it clear up?
Also, does anyone know anything about diesel chevetts?
