Default new to the 6.2

hey guys i have once again added another vehicle to my diesel collection just want to know what all u guys have done for power ...........also on another note if i start in first well second i guess if u count granny gear as first the truck jumps and shakes bad any ideas oh and heres a pic of the ol girl

There's not much for power on the 6.2/6.5 that you can really do. For the 6.2 the biggest thing you can do is add a turbo and turn up the fuel pump. Not really much else you can do.

As for the starting off issue, your clutch might be wearing out or it simply doesn't have enough power to start outside of the granny. 6.2s only have around 130 hp and 250 or so ft/lbs of torque, not really sufficient for a 3/4 ton pickup. Does it jump and shake when you use the granny?

my truck is the 6.2 4 speed with a np208 is the tranny the sm465?

Could be a nv4500, not really sure when they switched to it.

Oil on the clutch can do this.

nv4500 is a 5 speed is it not?

Yea nv4500 is a 5 speed. its most likely the sm465.you can always call a chevy dealer and give them your vin# and theylle tell u everything about the truck

Check your carrier bearing, your drive shaft might be hopping around.

Or broken tranny or engine mount.
