Default 6.2 In A Chevy S10?

I am thinking about doing a conversion at some point in my 1988 S10 would a 6.2 engine work? There are little electronics on that engine Right?
Logan what do think? anyone else? I seen some where a guy did a 6.2 swap in a S10, just can't find it. What Kind of mileage could I expect, and what all would have to be swaped, engine , trans transfer case?

6.2 with either a 700R4 or a 4L80E with the stand alone computer from the diesel vans or the 2 years the trucks came with, i cant remember the years, look over on diesel place, i am going to use the 4L80E in my Burb with the stand alone, my dad was averaging 17mpg in our turbo 400/4.10 3/4 ton suburban all the way to NC this week at 70 mph, in a light truck like that your looking ATLEAST 25 with an overdrive and axle gearing, the tranny and t-case are going to be long......you might want to start thinking axle swap........its gonna be hard to keep the IFS alive under that much weight........

That is the way I would like to go but it looks like it would be more money.

true but probably ALOT easier swap cause you can find 4BT's with turbo 400's pretty easy....

gm also made a 4.3 diesel that.. i have been told the are a way better diesel then the 350 diesels... the 4.3 diesel is not the same as a 4.3 gasser! unlike the 350's

also i thought a 4:53 detroit would make a good conversion for a s10
