Maybe if the conductor used the emergency brake instead of whatever an emergency "break" is that would have helped?

Obviously, these subway platforms are way too dangerous and should be shutdown immediately!!! Are we going to wait for more people to be injured or killed?
That would be the headlines if the media was against mass transit, which they would never be caught dead on!
P.S. An "emergency break" is a union rule, allowing union members to take a break whenever they deem necessary. In this case the conductor had to call home and stopped before the station so the passengers wouldn't notice.
