Default Bug Shield Removal

I just bought my truck a lil while back and it has had bug shields on it for a while (across hood and lights) and I was going to take them off because I don't like the way they look but the paint/clear looks different than the other paint. Is there any way to fix this or am I just gonna have to live with them?

hard to tell from the picture. that could either something on the clear or the clear is beginning to lift. i think you might want to try a machine glaze on that. the 3M stuff in the black bottle works really good but it's not cheap. i'd look at it really, really close first though. your clear may be lifting off and if you put a buffer on it it'll likely start pulling the clear off. . like i said i can't tell for sure from the picture.

Kinda like JC said, hard to tell from the pics, but I had one on my truck for a while. When I took it off it had rubbed the paint surface off and looked like they are worthless POS IMO....

Yea, the clear coat is starting to come off. It's kinda peeling.

I agree with the others. It looks as if part of the shield has rubbed through the clear coat.

The shield itself was about 1" from the paint. The only way it could have is if someone was pushing perty dang hard. Just don't understand that thier supposed to help but the paint behind it is worse. I dunno. Thanks for yer help guys.

They bend and flex more than you think. I have one on my 1500, but I have the little stoppers and there are marks where they have rubbed. How, I have no idea, because like you said, as far as pushing with your hand it takes some pushing.
