Looking For An Affordable Laptop
All I really do is surf the net, use autocad, and watch movies on it. I want a good size screen for Cad and everyso often I decide I want to play a game (mostly flight simulator) looking to spend a grand or less. Been looking at the Dell outlet online and see a couple I like but they all have Vista... Help me out guys!

dell is def the way to go. If you call them they can load it with XP but they charge you extra because you still have to buy the vista license. I haven't ran autocad in awhile so I don't know what the sys requirements are to get it to run decent.
I can also mail you a disk if you get vista.

I don`t like amd and the wifes last 2 laptops which have died have been amd
I`ll stick with reliable intel

Check out Bens Bargains, they find good deals on all kinds of good stuff, like the 17" HP 320GB drive, 3GB memory for $519 at Staples.
HP, Dell and Toshiba laptops have worked well for me. Another good thing is you can get a laptop setup to run Vista, buy a $99 copy of XP and install that since XP takes a lot less memory to run, you'll have a supercomputer. Or you can upgrade to windows7, which I know nothing about, I don't know if it works well or not.
