Default which weed wacker

for my birthday my family is all chipping in and buyinh me a weed wacker. I have a pretty new Snapper 2 stroke weedwacker but it has the angled head and the parts/attachments are hard to come by around here.

I want a 4 stroke but I noticed that most of the 2 strokes are 31 cc and the 4 strokes are 26-29cc. I do not want to be under powered
will the 4 stroke suite my needs?
I do use it to cut high grass and brush so power is definatly the key. also the straight head. I will be purchasing it from Lowes.

thanks

why don't you go to a STIHL dealer and get a good trimmer? I would suggest the FS90 very good unit with plenty of power

I couldnt afford a stihl unit and troybuilt makes a good one.

that and with stihls 4 strokes you still have to mix your fuel. pointless, why make a 4 stroke?

The nearest dealer is 45 miles and he has it for sale for $339.99

the troy built one Im looking at is equivelent in power and I dont have to mix the fuel and lowes is 7 miles from me and it costs $169

I buy Stihl chainsaws but they are overpriced on everything.

all I need to know is if a 29cc 4 stroke will have more/same power as a 31cc 2 stroke.

I have an Echo 2 stroke and i think its 29 cc and it has enough power for what i do on my 8 acres. High grass and tough weeds alot of times. The key sometimes is the cutter line your using.
I think i gave 200 for it at HD and its the next best thing to a stihl.

yeah the one I have now is 29cc 2 stroke snapper and it doesnt have enough to do tall gras and brush. It is also a bump feed and I hate them.

I've got a 29CC echo with the saw blade on it... I can cut some serious weeds with it. I can also cut small trees like an inch thick...just have to wind it up pretty good.

look into red max or dolmar too. dolmar was having a special with 32cc brushcutters for $250. Guess they found some stored in a warehouse somewhere and need to get rid of them.

ok maybe I need to rephrase this.

I already have the brand picked out ut I am concerned with the power of the 4 stroke 29cc over the 2 stroke 31cc.
if the 29cc 4 stroke is equivelant to the 31cc 2 stroke than I will get it.
