A major milestone
Today President Obama is celebrating the passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act as a "major milestone on our road to recovery," while still emphasizing that we have many miles yet to go.

"This historic step won't be the end of what we do to turn our economy around, but the beginning," he says in his weekly address. To get us there, he invokes President Kennedy, who said, "Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks."

President Obama acknowledges that some people are skeptical about the plan given how Washington has performed in the past, which is why he's encouraging people to check back at Stimulus Bill Spending Recovery.gov -- the site where, once the plan is in action, you'll be able to track the funds.

"Utlimately, this is your money, and you deserve to know where it's going and how it's spent," he says.

Nice!! They have already spent half of OUR money, $350 BILLION, and this is what we get to see. Now we get to wait for it to pass to see where they spent the first half and where they are GOING to spend the rest. I think its all BS, in my opinion. These corporations that are getting all of OUR money because they made poor business decisions. I, along with millions of other people made poor desicions, buying what I could afford at the time, and then the 'economy' gets slow and I can't afford what I got. That's poor desicion making and I damn sure ain't getting REWARDED for that. I don't want anything for it, I got myself in the situation and I WILL get myself out.
Its the american way, start a business, fail and somebody who thinks they can do it better steps in and starts a business. Its called competition.
These coprporate giants that pay millions of dollars in bonuses alone and make all these poor desicions need to lose their asses just like the rest of america and the government needs to keep their greedy noses out of it. If I/We want to give our money to these companies it should be our choice.
Its not going to kill us if we have to lose everything we got and have to start over. We have family and friends and thats something they can't take from us. We don't NEED all the material things, it WAS just so easy to go borrow for it and hope we could make the payments until it was payed for. Thats the same thing these companies did and they are getting OUR money for it while we suffer.
Sorry about the rant here, just a touchy subject for me and alot of others I know
Thats what I love about america and the 'friends' I have, I/We can say what we really feel and get others opinions on the same subject.
