Another thing, reboot in safe mode (restart than keep tapping the F8 key). If it still pops up in safe mode, your going to have to reinstall Windows. -

i'm running it now to see what happends... -

One thing I learned about Windows Defender, if you have a 3rd party anti-virus/firewall program, it flips out and makes your computer unstable.

And it does jack to stop malicious code from wreaking havoc on your computer. -

hmmmmm never had any problems running it with avg -

i ran it, even restarted comp... problems still here...

how do i reinstall windows? that's just on a disc right?
i'm 2 hours from home bt my wife's comp stuff is here.
she just got a new dell i think she has vista also..
in think a copy comes with the comp doesn't it??

Likely came preloaded with Windows that requires a boot disc that you have to burn. I'd go ahead and but a new copy of Home Premium -
