So just to clarify i do have a wireless internet network in my house.

so i got a Xbox 360 for christmas and halo 3 and i want to play halo 3 on live so i looked in the manuael and it said to either hook up the ethernet cord to the router or modem.Or for me to go out and buy wireless internet reciver for 100 bucks.

then i looked farther into the manuael and it said something about connecting your pc to your xbox 360 to share movies pics and songs and store them on your xbox. then the next sentence it says

" You can also connect your console to a Windows based PC or a Windows Media Center based PC to connect to XBOX Live".

my question is can i just connect my ethernet cord to my laptop and play like that or do i have to connect my cords to the modem or router or whatever and do it that way?

I think your computer has to have Windows Media Center on it, and you have to set it up through there somehow

if you want to use your laptop.. from what i understood you have to have your laptop hooked strait to the ethernet cord... then go to your network connections... right click on the one you want to share and go to properties... there it will ask if you want to share the internet conection... click yes...

i have not figured out how to do it with a wireless conection...
