Default 2wd to 4wd

What do you have to do to swap a 4l60e trans out a chevy van to a 4wd truck? Do oyu just have to change the tail shaft?

i cant remember if the tail shaft is removeable, you might need ahold new transmission housing.

cause the tranny in the suburban is out and we found a 15 passenger van with the same tranny but were not sure about hooking up the transfer case

swap the rear output shaft and housing.....

The rear out out put housing should have a set of bolts holding the 2wd flange to the rear of the tranns. I think it would only be four bolts to change the flange and shaft out. At least this is what it was like on the early to mid 80's blazers.

i just looked at one, remove the tail housing and output shaft as stated above
