I just bought a Bushnell 4200 elite for my new remmington BDL 7mm. It is just as good as any Leupold and will take a beating.

My first thought is always Leopold, but as stated above, they can be more expensive than the rifle you're putting them on, so I too will recommend the Bushnell 4200 series. Bushnell has come a LONG way over the years. Especially since buying Bausch & Lomb. You get a lot of scope without shelling the huge dollars. I have a Bushnell on my Savage 10ML-II Smokeless powder muzzle loader. It has as much recoil as my .300 Weatherby (with a Leopold) and the scope has performed flawlessly for some 200 shots.

HI atrd86, Yes you are right, the 4200 is an excellent scope, to bad that 4-16x40 4200 cost more than $429 !!!! I say spend about $119 and buy a millett 3-12x44 !! FOR THE MONEY, THE MILLETT CAN'T BE BEAT !!!

I've never even seen one of those to tell ya the truth but I'll keep my open cause I'd way rather be puttin one of those scopes on my guns that are getting banged around in the samurai and in the thick bush. Thanks

That scope has a lifetime warranty and for the money is hard to beat.

Any reason for wanting to switch? Are you looking for more magnification, wider field of view, lighter weight, etc?

What power is the one you have now? Is it the Classic series or the Expedition series?

I could recommend dozens of scopes but until I know what you're wanting it's purely one dimensional.

Depending on the model he could have one of the $1,000+ Savages....and not every Leupold is created equal these days.

HI MR.Miyagi, I like the NIGHTFORCE scope, but it's to big & heavy, LEUPOLD MARK 4, cause they have big target *****, BURRIS BLACK DIAMONDS an excellent scope, BUT not enough minutes of angle, you know CLICKS, all those scope I mention are BIG MONEY scope, now I have on my non-sniper rifle, PENTAX made by BURRIS, and MILLETT. I use a MILLETT 4-16X56 as my test scope for my 50bmg, and it has handle the big recoil for the 50bmg !!!
