Dipping that is. Sorry guys no such luck in getting rid of me.

I told my wife about 6 years ago that I would quit dipping Copenhagen on the spot the day either of my daughters asked me too. Tonight when were getting ready for supper my youngest informed me she needed to have a talk with me. I was like great she wants me to stop drinking beer.

She starts off by telling me about how snuff was a drug and that it was killing me more and more every day. It was then I knew where this conversation was going. I look at my wife and she gave me a wink.

"I want you to quit dipping snuff so you can live longer, I do not want you to die before you meet my children "(she is 13). So I tell her "ok" I leaned over the sink and with my tounge I toss it into the drain. "When are you you going to quit"? "I just did" I replied.

I have been dipping one can a day for 18 years, I just went to the dentist and he said my gums look great. But I have to quit this, it is going to be hard but I made a promise to my wife that if they asked I would do it. In return I told her that she would not complain about me doing it in the meantime.

So Copenhagen "it has been great, I have enjoyed our time together but I must live to see my daughters kids". All of this is a result of a 7th grade teacher trying to scare kids. I bought 5 cans of Cope today, all of it got poured in the sink tonight after supper.

 

Congrats man, its goin to be tough! Specially if you were a tin a day! I usually make a tin last half a week But yea its goin to be different for sure, chew lotsa gum to keep your mouth and mind busy. When my bud quit he did the gum thing with 2 pieces and he'd put it in his lip when it was all chewed and worked in so he had the mental thing goin like he had a dip in. Mind over matter bud your gonna win! Good luck!

 

Good luck Aaron.. Ive been about a can a day as well for many years. I have attempted to quit a few times, but my wife always winds up buying me a can of snuff so that she can stand to be around me.. I tend to be a lil "edgy" without my snuff.. I wish you the best of luck though bro..

I need to quit Smokin

 

Yeah I quit dippin for a little while... I picked up smokin. and now i'm dippin again too. I need to quit though. I smoke outside and dip inside. Alot of the time i just light up or throw in a big chaw(used to chew too) just cuz i was bored.

But i wish you the bext of luck! I've been dippin a can or so a day for about 3 years now and smokin anwhere from half a pack to a whole pack for about 6 months. I'm 19 so i still got alot of dumb in me. Maybe i'll learn here in a little while that i should give it up too.

Way to go i'm rootin' for ya! The gum and jerky ideas are great! i quit for about a month usin' them. (speakin of dumb in me.. i quit for about 2 weeks the 2nd time i tried cuz i drank my spitter...TERRIBLE IDEA!!! But i've heard it works)

 

i seriously dont know how you guys can even stomach the smell of that crap..........
