Default The Game Will Be Played/Hurricane Ike

Current forecast model have the center of the low at this point heading directly through the DFW area late Saturday night and into Sunday afternoon.. Depending on the strength of Ike when it hits landfall (South Texas water is quite warm and lots of energy to get this thing going) it will probably still be a strong to moderate tropical storm when going over the DFW area which are sustained winds of 45 MPH-74MPH..

Monday night the storm should be well out of the way of the area if current models are correct...

Remember though, we are still DAYS out and models in the 5-7 day range are still not overly accurate, although I would be pretty sure into saying that come Monday, most of Texas will be out of the woods..

Monday's high in DFW will probably be in the lower to mid 80s and by gametime well into the 70's..

The field though may be a pretty wet as models right now indicate 8-14 inches of rain in the area, and if you count the tropical storm ruminants that are coming through now, it could amount to up to 18 inches of rain.. Definitely something to watch...

But the game will be played and I will be there at 3:00 setting up camp. It will look something like this before the game.

It wont get that far Aaron. There's not a low enough barometric pressure for it to keep driving so its probably going to die down to a tropical storm. Our meteorologists are really not concerned and feel that its not going to be more than an TS once hitting Galveston. GAME ON!!!

Track Hurricane Ike / Stormpulse / Hurricane tracking, mapping move your mouse around and track it. It look like a 3 going into Corpus.

Marla is in Houston and has a flight out on Saturday, we are moving it to Friday morning just in case it turns North a bit.

Either way rain or shine I am going to the game and going to have a good time, rain/shine, win/lose. Our seats do not get wet anyway even in heavy rain.

Did Joseph call you?

The water temp in the Gulf will typically cause a hurricane to reduce a class or two. The ones that have been back were because a front would come from the North and help drive it. Class 3 isnt that bad anyway. High winds and loads of water. I'll bust out the jet ski.

You definitely dont want her being here Saturday morning. Thats when they expect it to hit so Bush and Hobby will be shut down. Get her out on Friday or she'll be stuck here.

No, I had my friend contact him and havent heard anything since. Not sure if he found her anything or not but I plan to give him a shout if I make the move up there.

UPDATE!!!: Our meteorologists are now saying Ike is building strength and can possibly become a class 4 hurricane by tomorrow. Anyone in the South Central Texas coast needs to get out NOW!!! Winds are expected to be in the 140-150 mph range.

Marla has a property in Freeport area, they are doing a mandatory evacuation already. So she is staying in the Katy area the rest of the week.

She is flying out on Friday afternoon.

Katy should be pretty safe. If she needs any help with anything Aaron give her my number.
