I was straightening my hair and on my straightener's warning label it says "Canada: not for household use"... ... so y'all can't use straighteners in your house? do y'all have different plug ins? or is it something else? I'm just wondering and I thought maybe y'all could answer it... |

Mine doesn't say anything on it either. Some are designed for salon use only they get too hot or some dumb thing like that. Canada rules relly suck when it comes to not having shut offs and such. Maybe that is one that doesn't pass the freakin government standards for household use.

Like Doc said...up here we have something called CSA approval. All electical appliances (and toilets-dont ask) have to meet Canadian Standards Association (CSA). This is very much like ASTM in the U.S. So in essence, we have deemed it safe for Americans, but us Canadians would never use such junk (just kidding). All it means is that you cant import them and sell them in Canada. CSA is a much stricter standard since it is 3rd party testing vs ASTM where the actual manufacturer does their own testing, and deems the product safe or not...
On another note, do you ever burn your counter with your straightener?? I just got my wife a very cool hot iron holder that keeps the iron off the counter. |
