Let’s start off by saying I grew up a Ford boy. With that being said I now have a new love for trucks and if it’s not a ram it’s not a truck. I would also like to add sorry for any bad spelling, grammar or punctuation. It’s not my one of

When I was younger about 8 or so my dad had an 84 heavy half ton ford with a 300ci 6 and a granny 4 speed. I love that truck it would pull anything out of them mud. And it did many many times people would call him from all over to come get them out. Including the local volunteer fire dept a couple times. In 95 my dad quit UPS and opened his own mowing business. Also in 95 my family bought our first camper a 24 foot mallard. And while me and my dad loved that truck for its low end. It had nowhere near the power needed to pull that camper. I remember going down the interstate up some hills at 35-40 and the hills around here aren’t very big. So we sold the 84 in 98 or so and my dad bought a 94 f250 club cab with a 460 and a 5 speed. It would haul. We never even knew the mallard was back there. We also had two other work trucks a 95 PSD with a 5 speed and a 94 PSD with an auto. Neither could touch that 460 for pulling or speed. We got a sunny brook 33 foot fifth wheel in 99 and that slowed down the 460 a little and we started mowing the interstate right away for the next county over in 2000 and the 100 horse Deere and a 15 foot bat wing brush hog really slowed the 460 down. So with that and the fact my sister and I were getting bigger my dad decided to get a 99 F350 super duty in 01. The 7.3 was fast and I got my first glimpse into what a diesel could do. It was stock except for a banks power pack and could roast all 4 dual tires. When we got that it was back to forgetting the camper was back there. My parents joined a camping club that same year and I met an older guy that had a turned up 96 12 valve. After that 012 valve and having the Super duty I started to love the sound of diesel. I should add I was still a ford guy at this point. Fast forward a few years to 2004 and at the ripe old age of 18 and with some help from my dad and the bank I bought a 98.5 3500 with a 5 speed. I knew nothing about how to make the power I just knew I loved the smoke and the sound and I went with the Cummins because of the sound. I owned that truck for a year and a half. In that time I added an edge EZ FASS Boost, EGT and FP gauges 4” exhaust and a bhaf. My dad loved that 98.5 so after his 4th ford slush box in 05 he bought his first new truck ever and it was a dodge. It had an n NV 5600 and he loves it. A few months later they bought a 38 foot sea hawk 5the wheel with 3 slides and the Cummins has no trouble pulling it. Not too long after that he got backed into at a Basketball game and the insurance paid him 5000.00 to get the bed fixed. Well we found one in Carlsbad NM. I hadn’t told anyone but I was looking for a 12 valve at that time. I found one in Amarillo bought it and brought it home. I sold my 24 valve to a guy in Colorado. He flew in to Tulsa picked it up and left. I had owned it for about a year and a half and put 40K on it. It was around this time that I lost my ford love and started to love inline 6s. The 12 valve was a 97 5 speed CC 4x4. It had 179K I put plate in me and toasted the clutch so in went a south bend. After that I got a #10 and a 3K gsk. Well instead of paying someone to put the 3K in I tried it my self…. It didn’t go well. One of the nuts holding the springs down came off and when I tried to start it it cracked the pump housing and I guess the governor welded itself to the pumps cam shaft. So I spent the money and put a Pensacola diesel injection pump in it and there stage 2 injectors. But after that it never ran right. I was working at the bank by this time and not helping my dad anymore so I started looking for a gas substitute as I tried to sell the 97. I sold it to a guy out in Oakland and he paid my 1000.00 to drive it out for him. When I dropped it off it had 206K. After that I bought a 98 4runner…. What was I thinking? I sold the 4runner in 4 months 3 of those months I was looking for a new CTD. After owning two other trucks I knew what I wanted. I wanted a 12 valve with back doors and a built auto. I found it on Craigslist the day it was posted. The guy was in Atlanta and after some haggling I drove to Memphis to meet him half way and rove it home with 102K on it. Since then I have put 7K on it a #100 plate gauges and a built Goerend transmission. I plan to keep this truck a long time. And future plans include 4Ks on the 13th of June, Stacks, Injectors, new turbo, studs and maybe some other stuff. For right now im happy I have my dream truck. Oh and just to let you know about my dads trucks the 94 psd blew up because a worker ran it out of oil. The 95 is sitting and has been since last year major oil leak and we just don’t need it the 94 with a 460 got totaled on the interstate. It now sits next to the 94 in a field on the farm. My dad bought another 95 psd with a 5 speed in January of this year and is currently looking for an older 12 valve. He thinks he’s putting too many miles on his 05 he has 135XXX.
