Question,My work truck has an 8.3L cummins .Today on my way to a road call the motor died on me 6 times on I-5 sb while driving.It starts with the throttle acting like its dead ,then the motor just dies.And i have to crank on ... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

Question,My work truck has an 8.3L cummins .Today on my way to a road call the motor died on me 6 times on I-5 sb while driving.It starts with the throttle acting like its dead ,then the motor just dies.And i have to crank on it for 5 or 6 seconds while driving until it starts back up. Any idea. -

need the codes to be sure but it sounds like the APPS is dying to me if yer loosing throttle response

when was the fuel filter changed last???

i cant pull codes because its an older pete with a 12v
The fuel filter was changed 4 months ago.
Question,what is an apps? Thanks.
This truck has been giving me issues for a few weeks know.And last week the pto went out on a costomer site. -

Check your fuel shutoff solenoid on the injector pump. Turn the key on and make sure the magnet holds the valve open good. The solenoids on the 8.3's get weak over time and can start to open the valve partially, and depending on engine load may not get enough fuel and stall. -
